VOCATIONAL TUNED CAB MOUNT SYSTEM
The X-Series cab mount system features vocationally tuned cab isolators designed to reduce operator fatigue by providing optimal cab stability, helping deliver the incredibly comfortable ride Western Star is known for.
POWER HOOD
The optional Power Hood on the Western Star 49X (available for set-forward configuration) is purpose-built to support larger radiator packaging for high-output engines, including DD15 and DD16.

THE X-SERIES DOOR
Western Star X-Series doors are 100% steel and include plenty of reinforcements. Triple door seals reduce noise and dust. Fully forged hinges reduce sagging and help ensure long life.
C-Bar Mirror System
Our X-Series mirrors provide enhanced visibility that your operators need and more, with features that reduce operator fatigue, improve safety, and increase uptime.
Mounting System
Mirrors are mounted to steel door reinforcements to help support the added weight from mounted lights. The system minimizes low-engine speed/low-frequency vibrations to maximize operator visibility.
C-Bar Arms
The reduced profile of the Western Star C-Bar Arms provides greater forward visibility and reduced resistance.
Integrated Turn Signals
Optional, easy-to-see, integrated signals in the lower convex mirror help ensure the safety of operators and other motorists.

ICO TECH HOOD SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Our exclusive ISO Tech Hood Suspension System absorbs shocks and isolates the hood from brutal road conditions to reduce the chance of cracking and costly hood replacements.
AIR INTAKE COVERS
Dual stainless steel air intake covers that turn heads while feeding the easy-breathing under hood air cleaner.
OPENING ANGLE
Our hood’s 70-degree service opening enables easy servicing of underhood components. The standard hood strut lock keeps the hood from closing in windy conditions.
HOOD LATCH
The hood latch features self-locating rubber cowl hood mounts to secure the hood and constrain it from lateral movement while remaining easily accessed with a single gloved hand.

GRILLE
The X-Series Truck grille is made from a single piece of stainless steel, mounted directly to the radiator for easy hood opening using bumper-mounted implements. Stainless fasteners are located externally for easy replacement.
ALL METAL BRIGHTWORK
Components that shine bright on the job include the intake cover, grille, and sun visor, all built from resilient, long-lasting metal.
FENDERS
Made from steel-reinforced molded resin material designed to take a hit, X-Series truck fenders feature flares that protect the hood, cab, and frame sides from splashes and debris.
AIR CLEANING (49X ONLY)
The underhood air cleaner offers nearly the same dust capacity as twin external canister air cleaners, with 60% less weight and requiring half the replacement time.
AUXILIARY MIRRORS
Structural provisions for auxiliary mirrors eliminate the need for additional hood reinforcements, thus reducing cost, time, and the complexities of retrofitting.
ACCESS HATCH
An optional left-side access hatch is available for easy check of key fluid levels without opening the hood or removing front-mounted equipment.
RADIATOR AND COOLING
Western Star’s standard aluminum radiator delivers excellent cooling performance and helps to reduce maintenance costs. The optional radiator protection package, with a top guard and rear rock screen, is available for demanding applications.
